What are you reading?

Postby SnappyDragon on Sun Feb 07, 2010 12:18 pm

I am currently reading the following:

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (yes, way behind the times)
I'm rereading Angela's Ashes
I started the Marked books but can't get into them much
and I want to buy the complete Charles Dickens collection and read all about English poverty.

The funny thing about my new interest in reading is that I got all my boxes of books from my sister's basement. They have been stored for years and all smell like moldy basement. :gloomygus: I am allergic to mold so it's a ton of fun to read and gag at the same time! :cutelaugh:

I havent read an actual book in a while but have read the first 2 Harry Potter books. I like to read quotes for some reason. I have 3 books on quotes. I'm weird, I know. I also remember a book called..."A Child called it" and although it was very sad, it was really good. Not recommended if you are very emotional though. Just fyi. Mainly I read US Weekly. :cutelaugh:

I haven't read a good book, well any book, in years. But I just recently started reading Suzanne Sommer's book Knockout. It's not fun reading, but it's interesting. She interviews 10 doctors who are doing alternative treatments for cancer, well worth reading. So while it wasn't reading for entertainments sake, it did light the reading bug, and so I am now reading Watership Down. Not sure why, other than it is a book that seems to fall into the "classic literature" category, and it's always been in the back of my mind that I should read it. So far, it started off slow, but is holding my interest. I think it's going to be a good book.

I'm reading the autobiography of Crocky Wright. Mt dad told me I had to read it. Crocky was an old-time race driver. He's credited with discoveringTony Stewart. They were very close buddies. He's also the only person ever to get fired for driving too fast at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He drove the tour bus and scared the pants off the tourists. :cutelaugh: Next up, my husband said I have to read Who Moved My Cheese. Then I think I will reread the last couple of Harry Potter books, again.
I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly.

This month I have read:

Gotham Diaries (book club selection for March)
The Serpent's Gift (was on the library shelf next to the book club book)
and The Duggars 20 and counting

The first was alright. A bit lame. The second was more interesting in that it was not set all in the present day. The third I enjoyed the most.

I just finished Angela's Ashes and Chamber of Secrets. I'm moving on to Prisoner of Azkaban and a funny Twilight parody called Nightlight.

i just finished reading Schooled. I needed some mindless reading so I borrowed it from our 5-6 grade library at school. It was pretty funny. It's about a kid who grew up on a hippie commune though now just with his grandma there. Some things happen and he ends up in a regular middle school. I have to say even though it's written for kids, I found it quite amusing.
